Michael Clarke Duncan, December 10, 1957 – September 3, 2012

One of my favorites movies of all time is “The Green Mile”, 1999, directed by Frank Darabont and starred by Tom Hanks. One of the many qualities from this movie is the amazing and inspirational interpretation of this giant man with baby face Michael C. Duncan, playing the prisioner sentenced to death on electric chair John Coffey. On this Monday, 3 September 2012, Michael left us by problems after a heart attack. He was interned in an intensive care unit since July.

Michael C. Duncan started his career on TV making shorts appearences until have the great chance when participated of the blockbuster “Armageddon” (1998). In 1999 played John Coffey in “The Green Mile” and was nominated to a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture. Other Duncan movies were “The Whole Nine Yards”, “Planet of the Apes”, “The Scorpion King”, “Daredevil” and “Sin City”. His voice can be listened in many other movies and TV series. His last movie was “The Challenger”, in post-production.

Vaya con Dios, Mr. Coffey…
